Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band Rock Fort Campbell on July 4th
July 11th, 2022
With an estimated 10,000 people in attendance, Gary Sinise & the Lieutenant Dan Band rocked the stage at Fort Campbell's annual Independence Day Celebration and Concert on July 4th!
Prior to the live show, our very own Gary Sinise took time out to meet with families on a day filled with a variety of games, activities, and food trucks for all in attendance including a Free Family Fun Zone area, which included 12 inflatables.
Before taking the stage, Gary talked about the Foundation and the Lt. Dan Band. “June 30th we celebrated our 11th anniversary,” Gary said. “Years ago, I started supporting numerous veteran and 1st responder non-profits. I realized the next step was for me to create my own non-profit. In 2011 we launched the Gary Sinise Foundation, publicly. We started taking in donations and created a series of programs, and that includes the Lt. Dan Band.”
“The American people who donate to the Foundation help us provide these entertainment shows to the men and women who serve our country, and that’s what we’re doing here today.
Gary then went on to talk about the Foundation's recent move to Nashville. “I have a lot of friends in Nashville,” said Gary. “There are a lot of military bases in the eight states that surround Tennessee. I’ve been to many of them and supported them in different ways. I’ve been here at Fort Campbell multiple times over the years. It’s great to be back, especially on the 4th of July. We’re going to be able to serve a lot of people, being based in Nashville and I’m looking forward to it.”
After the singing of the National Anthem, the audience turned from the stage toward the other end of the Division Parade Field to watch a Salute to the Nation and listen as the name of each state and the date of its state-hood was read. That was concluded with the retiring of colors.
After the show, the audience was treated to a 30-minute fireworks show to remember. Although it was over 95 degrees throughout the day, nothing turned the crowd away from the show. Honor. Gratitude. Rock & Roll. That’s the mission of every Lt. Dan Band concert.
