R.I.S.E. was established to provide wounded heroes and their families with the necessary resources to overcome their new life challenges. Whether providing home modifications, adapted vehicles, mobility devices or constructing specially adapted smart homes, the Gary Sinise Foundation is committed to helping our wounded heroes increase their mobility and reclaim their self-reliance.
Honor. Gratitude. Rock & Roll. That's the mission of every Lt. Dan Band concert. There's something for everyone as the twelve-member group covers hits every genre. Whether boosting morale on military bases at home and abroad or raising awareness at benefit concerts across the country, the band entertains, educates, inspires and builds communities with its explosive live show everywhere it goes.
For our nation’s defenders and their families, life can change in an instant. Our Relief & Resiliency Outreach provides support to those recovering from trauma and loss during times of urgent need. We're also helping heal emotional wounds by hosting exciting events for those enduring similar struggles. By building a community of friendships and forming new, lasting memories, they can find hope for the future together.
The heroic spirit displayed by our wounded service members during rehabilitation is an inspiration. Our Invincible Spirit Festivals celebrate the courage not only of these heroes, but their families and caregivers as well. These day-long festivals bring a live Lt. Dan Band concert, a fair-like atmosphere for children, and a cookout by Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine to military medical hospitals nationwide.
Our Ambassadors Council represents the Gary Sinise Foundation's mission and purpose through speaking engagements, public appearances and leadership opportunities around the world. As spokespersons, they proudly share our accomplishments and aspirations. By recounting their own stories of service, they educate and inspire new supporters by forming meaningful, personal connections.
Nothing offers an opportunity to bond and give thanks quite like breaking bread together. That’s why we’re showing gratitude to our nation’s defenders by serving hearty, classic American meals often just before deployment. With locations at major travel hubs, we’re already expanding our efforts to include other venues and additional airports all across America.
As co-founder of the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago, Gary helped establish their Veterans Night program. Every month, local veterans are treated to dinner and a rehearsal performance free of charge. As part of our Arts & Entertainment Outreach, Veterans Night is now being offered at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles as well. We’re working to bring this wonderful program to more locations soon.
The Gary Sinise Foundation is recognizing and supporting America’s firefighters, police, and EMTs through its First Responders Outreach program. These men and women are indispensable to maintaining the safety of our communities. By providing funds for equipment, training and wellness, the Foundation is ensuring these heroes perform to the best of their abilities.
For more than ten years it has been my privilege to support Snowball Express, an organization dedicated to serving the children of our fallen heroes and our Gold Star families. From my first moments at Snowball in 2007, the kids captured my heart and every year I look forward to bringing smiles to the faces of these deserving children. So many remarkable people have volunteered their time and resources to make our annual event special when, courtesy of American Airlines, we bring over 1,500 Gold Star children together to provide hope and new memories during difficult times.
