Help Build a Life Changing Home for a Paralyzed Police Officer

October 20th, 2016

With heavy hearts, our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Michael Flamion and his wife, Sarah. The nine-year veteran of law enforcement joined the Ballwin Police Department in 2014.

Michael was shot in the line of duty in Ballwin, Missouri during a routine traffic stop on July 8, 2016. At 31 years of age, he was left paralyzed from the neck down.

Since entering a rehabilitation center, Michael can maintain a conversation and eat regular food. He has also regained some movement in his shoulders. These progressions are miraculous, but Michael and Sarah still face a difficult road ahead.

We are honored to announce through our R.I.S.E. program, the Gary Sinise Foundation will build the Flamion's a new specially adapted smart home to help ease the challenges they will face in everyday life.

The project is already underway. The property where the home will be built has been selected and the contracts have been signed. Several wonderful sponsors have already joined us to support the Flamion family, including Shubert Design Furniture, North American Van Lines, National Wood Flooring Association, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Panera Bread Company, and Crestside Ballwin Heating and Cooling.

The Ballwin Police Department has joined together along with the Ballwin community to fundraise for this special project. But there is so much more to be done. Please consider making a donation towards this courageous officer who put his life on the line for the safety of his neighbors.

Let’s show our gratitude to this American hero together!
