Veteran's Day and Mandalay Bay
November 11th, 2011
It's Veteran's Day and the band I are headed to Las Vegas to perform at Mandalay Bay Beach. Our show is part of Salute to the Troops Weekend 2011, a joint effort between the USO, MGM Entertainment, American Airlines and the Gary Sinise Foundation. This weekend, more than sixty wounded warriors and their guests will be flown to Las Vegas to participate in four days of relaxation, entertainment and sightseeing courtesy of MGM Resorts International, the USO, Ride2Recovery and American Airlines. I'm proud to be affiliated with such a worthy cause.
At 1:30pm PST / 4:30pm EST today, be sure to check out a rebroadcast of our concert at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA. We were honored to help pay tribute to the memory of A.J. Castro with his father, Hector, and the rest of the Castro family. The fundraiser was a great success and its proceeds will help us build smarthomes for our nation's most severely wounded veterans. Check out photos from the event below.
This Veteran's Day, I hope you'll take the time to reflect on the incredible heroism of those who risk their lives in our defense. It's easy to forget that the freedom you and I enjoy in our everyday lives is afforded by their remarkable sacrifice. If you see a serviceman or woman, shake their hand and thank them for their service. Assure them that they are appreciated. Not just on Veteran's Day, but everyday.
Thank you all so much for your continued support. God bless.
