You may know me as an actor, but my life’s work has been to honor and support our nation's veterans, first responders, wounded heroes, families of the fallen, and those enduring invisible wounds. I launched Gary Sinise Foundation to expand that mission.
I hope to see you on this journey. Join us.

Our FinancialsStories of Sacrifice
U.S. Navy Corpsman Doc Jacobs was serving on the front lines in Iraq when an IED explosion changed his life forever. Against all odds, Doc survived devastating injuries and the loss of both legs. But he refused to stop serving. From becoming the first amputee corpsman to redeploy, to pursuing Major League Baseball tryouts, to honoring fallen heroes through battlefield recovery missions, Doc’s story redefines courage, perseverance, and purpose. In this powerful conversation, Doc opens up about the day he was injured, his long road to recovery, and how the Gary Sinise Foundation gave him a home built for healing. He shares what it means to truly live a life of service—long after the uniform comes off.

As the Gary Sinise Foundation prepares to celebrate our 100th mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home, we continue reflecting on the remarkable individuals who represent the heart of our home building initiative. These heroes come from all walks of life, united by their courage, sacrifice, and resilience. Sharif Muzayen, recipient of Home #82 in Kingsland, Georgia, embodies not just one but two paths of service, to his country and to his community.
What an unforgettable week in Music City! The Gary Sinise Foundation was honored to bring our nation's wounded veterans, first responders, and their loved ones together for an incredible experience; celebrating their service with experiences that brought joy, creativity, and connection. We're proud to salute the heroes who defend and protect us, and grateful to celebrate them right here in our hometown of Nashville, TN.

We’re bringing students to places where history becomes real, from the National WWII Museum to the 9/11 Memorial. Through firsthand accounts from veterans, first responders, and those who lived it, they gain a deeper understanding of the true cost of freedom.
