Tom Gibbs

Tom Gibbs

Tom currently operates as the Gary Sinise Foundation Director of Education. Prior to working at the Gary Sinise Foundation, he earned his master’s in military history at the University of New Orleans and his bachelor’s in history from Loyola University New Orleans. He worked at the National World War II Museum for eleven years and interviewed over 300 World War II Veterans for the Museum’s archives. Tom has cumulatively interviewed over 500 military veterans, scientists, civilians, and others relevant to our nation’s military history during his career.


Tom is dedicated to educating students on the sacrifices of our nation’s active-duty military, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need to help enhance civilian understanding of those who answer the call to serve their country and communities. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Tom has called the New Orleans area his home since August of 2005.
