Car enthusiasts gathered in Belleview, Florida, to showcase their cars and raise money for a new favorite cause – the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Central Florida Chapter.

Let’s face it — cool cars, veterans, and first responders go well together. Nearly $3,000 was raised to support the Central Florida Chapter of the Gary Sinise Foundation at the 2021 Car-B-Que for a Cause event featuring car enthusiasts from across Central Florida. The event was close to the Villages in Sumter County, where in 2019 Gary Sinise and The Lt. Dan Band entertained thousands.

“We want to help our Central Florida veterans and first responders – there’s no better way than through the Gary Sinise Foundation,” said Courtney and Sterling Forrest of the One Goal Team RE/MAX when reaching out to Karen Connors, the chapter’s president.

Central Florida Chapter board members Fran Fierko (a car buff himself), Dave Holland, Advisory Council Chair Pat Connors, and Karen Connors attended to get the word out about the new chapter and engage with the Central Florida community. Connors was thrilled with the event saying, “this is a perfect example of events we are planning for Central Florida, which are annual and effective at raising critical funding for GSF programs.”
