Return to Guantanamo Bay

In 2006 Gary took his band, the Lt. Dan Band, to perform for our troops at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. It was a trip Gary always remembered and knew he would return to visit again one day.

Eleven years later, on September 28, 2017, Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band now a program of the Gary Sinise Foundation, made their return to play for the military troops and their loved ones. Once again it was a trip of a lifetime, and one Gary and the band will never forget.

With a night filled of music from all genres and words of appreciation, hundreds of people came together for an evening of fun.

There is no entertainment outside the gate here, we’re our own little community. Very isolated. So, having a well-known band and star from the United States is really great for morale.

– Capt. David Culpepper, Commanding Officer

While at Guantanamo Bay, Gary also visited personally with our active duty military and spent time with their families.

Our military families and children serve right alongside our service members and I thank every military child all around the world for hanging in there.

– Gary Sinise

Taking a moment to thank those who sacrifice while serving our country can make all the difference. Thank you Guantanamo Bay for having us!
