My Friends,
During the holidays, surrounded by loved ones, I can't help but reflect on how fortunate we are to live in this nation.
As Americans, you and I are bestowed with many gifts. The gift of FREEDOM, to pursue happiness however we choose. The gift of SAFETY, to know help is around the corner. And SECURITY, to remember brave souls are standing watch. This is the heart of our holiday campaign, The Gifts of Our Defenders.
We sometimes forget that the peace we experience each day is not the natural state of the world. It is earned and protected through the sacrifice of our military and first responders.
In this season of giving, remember The Gifts of Our Defenders. Remember what they cost. Most of all, remember that those who make these incredible sacrifices are people just like you and I, with lives and loved ones of their own.
