A Memorial Day Message to Our Friends
May 22nd, 2015
While Memorial Day has come to signify beach getaways and backyard cookouts, its true purpose has never been more important.
It is easy to take for granted the freedom we know and the safety we feel. But we live in dangerous times. Every day, our servicemembers stand in harm’s way to defend our nation.
The last Monday of May is set aside to honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving America. In paying tribute to their bravery, we must also remember the sacrifices of those they left behind.
Care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan.
-President Abraham Lincoln
