2011: A Look Back

December 28th, 2012

a-look-back

As 2011 comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported the Gary Sinise Foundation this year and wish you a wonderful 2012.

Together, we've accomplished many wonderful things. You've helped us raise money to build special homes for severely wounded veterans Todd Nicely and John Peck, while the funds raised from our concert last year for Brendan Marrocco helped build his new home in Staten Island. He's living there now and very happy.

Your donations help me to provide the band for performances at community building and fundraising concerts in the areas where each home is to be built. Our concerts raise awareness within their community as to the special needs of the severely wounded warrior living in their midst, and each time I have seen an overwhelming outpouring of support for the veteran who will continue to need their help as the years go by.

You've also helped us provide meals for returning soldiers and Marines, emergency needs for the grief-stricken families of our fallen, care packages and school supplies for our deployed warriors, transportation for needy families of first responders, the building of a much needed memorial tribute, De Opresso Liber, honoring our Special Forces Horse Soldiers, the first to deploy to Afghanistan in response to the 9/11 attacks, and so much more.

2012 will be even better. We will perform ten concerts in support of our Building For Americas Bravest™ program. Please take a look at that page here on our website and meet the wounded warriors we will be building homes for in partnership with The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Please also see the two videos included below. They are from the Wounded Warrior Salute to the Troops in Las Vegas this past Veterans Day and from Snowball Express VI in Dallas just a few weeks ago:

Please keep our troops and first responders in your thoughts and prayers. If you see someone wearing the cloth of our nation, give them a pat on the back and a thank you for serving. It is a simple thing to do that will go a long way with them.

Again, thank you to all our supporters. Anything you can do to spread the word about what we are doing will be greatly appreciated.

All the best,

Gary
