Oshkosh or Bust

July 28th, 2011

Hello friends!

It’s been non-stop over here since CSI:NY started filming Season Eight last week. But it’s so great to be back on set shooting our season premiere. It’s going to be a knockout.

As the band and I gear up for our gig this Friday at the EAA AirVenture Air Show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, I’d like to take a moment to share with you a cause very close to me.

The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial broke ground on its two-acre plot in Washington D.C. last November. I recently spoke with Lisa Sylvester on CNN’s “The Situation Room” about the project, you can check out the video here.

While the groundbreaking was a huge success, the fundraising efforts still continue. The Disabled Veteran’s LIFE Memorial Foundation is selling a commemorative coin struck by the U.S. Mint, the proceeds of which will be donated to fund the memorial’s construction. It’s a beautiful collector’s piece that would make a wonderful keepsake for generations to come. You can find out more or order online at the AVDLM website. Or If you’re headed to the Oshkosh show, check out the coin for yourself at the DAV Flight Team exhibit.

I hope you’ll consider purchasing one. You’ll be doing your part to honor the incredible sacrifice of thousands of disabled veterans. As with the fallen, the wounded deserve a proper memorial to their service. Let’s build them one together.

Hope to see you all at the show! As always, thank you for your support. God bless.

Your pal,
Gary
