Toni Russell spent thirty years at American Airlines before retiring in 2015 and joining the Gary Sinise Foundation full time in January 2018 as the Operations Coordinator after initially serving as an independent contractor for the Foundation. She worked in nine different departments while at American including pilot recruitment, flight service, and the veterans/military initiatives program. Toni participated with Operation Iraqi Children where she got to experience a “trap” and “catapult” on the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. As a member of the CARE team she was activated five times to assist families after accidents.
Toni’s passion for the military and veterans comes from a family history of service from WWI to present day in all branches – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard.
