Gene Russell is from NC, where he attended Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer, NC and later earned his Bachelor’s in Business Management at the University of Phoenix. He began his 35 year career in Consumer Products at Coca-Cola and went on to progressive leadership roles at Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay.
As a transformation agent, he spent 11 years at Lance snack foods in numerous roles including account management, VP of Sales and VP of Sales Strategy. Most recently, he utilized his transformation & leadership skills as VP of Sales in the industries of Olive Oil and Rice and Grains, both domestically and Internationally. While he has in-depth experience with customer relations and negotiations within the US retail segment, his greatest passion is leading and mentoring others to be the best they can be.
Gene served on the board for Children’s Restoration Network, an Atlanta non-profit focused on direct support for homeless children and mothers in the metro area to break the cycle of homelessness. He was also an active supporter of the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA) both personally and through his professional roles. Losing a family member in the Vietnam War created a yearning to assist our military and today, he is Co-Director of the Central Florida chapter of Wish For Our Heroes, a non-profit dedicated to assisting active duty military.
Since retiring, Gene spends his time enjoying golf and boating. He and his wife attend basketball and football games at UNC and love watching the Tampa Bay Lightning in Amalie Arena.
He currently lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife Rhonda. They have three wonderful and successful children as well as eight grandchildren.
