Our wounded heroes have sacrificed so much to ensure our safety and freedom. But the sacrifices of their loved ones, many of whom assume the role of caregiver, are too often overlooked. We owe our sincerest gratitude to these unsung heroes as well.
Through our R.I.S.E. programs, we’re helping to ease the stress faced by these families. We’re building specially adapted smart homes for our most severely wounded veterans and providing home modifications, mobility devices & adapted vehicles to our injured, wounded, ill, and/or aging heroes.
Life can change in an instant, especially for our nation’s defenders and their loved ones. Our duty as citizens is to ensure these families stay strong through hardships by offering complete support before, during, and after the battle.
Our Relief & Resiliency programs are bringing together the children of our fallen to heal through celebration, hosting festivals at military medical centers nationwide, lifting spirits with live concerts, helping wounded heroes heal through mentorship, and supporting families in their times of urgent need.
We’re working to bridge the gap between our defender and civilian communities. Honoring America’s heroes both past and present, and inspiring the next generation to do the same, is a responsibility that we all share.
Our Community Outreach & Education programs are sending WWII veterans and students to tour The National WWII Museum, recording the Greatest Generation's oral histories, serving hearty meals that show our gratitude, connecting with local veterans through theatre, enlisting ambassadors to educate and inspire communities, and hosting events in our Center for Education & Outreach to encourage service over self.
Our firefighters, police, and EMTs are indispensable to the safety of our communities. When crises occur, these brave men and women put their own lives at risk. They answer the call, rush toward danger, and lead the way.
Too often, these heroes are performing with limited resources. Our First Responders Outreach is providing grants for emergency relief, training, and essential equipment to ensure they perform to the best of their abilities.
Family is not limited by the bonds of blood or name. It’s shaped by the stories we share, the freedoms we cherish, and the nation we love. Family is at the center of all we do at the Gary Sinise Foundation. Our mission is to honor and serve our defenders, veterans, first responders, and always their loved ones who sacrifice alongside them.
While we can never do enough for our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more. Because that’s what you do for family.
