Cpl. Doug Vitale Benefit Concert

August 9, 2013

About Cpl. Doug Vitale

Cpl. Doug Vitale and his wife, Alexis, had their lives turned upside down on September 25, 2011 when he was seriously injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion. He suffered amputations of both legs as well as a severe traumatic brain injury.

Doug is a 2005 graduate of Kiski Area High School and native of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Doug joined the Marine Corps in October 2007, and being in the infantry was the only thing he wanted to do.

About Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band

“Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band” concerts are an integral part of the success of Building for America’s Bravest™.  Not only do the concerts provide an opportunity to raise funding for the construction of each Smart Home, but more importantly, in support of each wounded warrior, the concerts serve as a vehicle to Entertain, Educate, Inspire, Strengthen and Build Communities; which is at the core of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s mission. Creating public awareness for each wounded warrior and their family allows for long-term, sustainable support.
