Right now, less than 2% of our population is protecting our safety and freedom.
The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need. We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.
About Gary Sinise
For nearly 40 years, actor Gary Sinise has stood as an advocate on behalf of America’s service members. With his portrayal of Lt. Dan Taylor in the landmark film Forrest Gump, Sinise formed an enduring connection with the military community, especially its wounded heroes. Since 9/11, serving our nation’s defenders and their loved ones has become his life’s work. The Gary Sinise Foundation was launched to expand his individual efforts by enlisting the help of the American people.
Gary Sinise Foundation
Since its inception in 2011, the Gary Sinise Foundation has helped close the gaps in support our defenders sometimes face. Though we have experienced remarkable growth, we remain committed to engaging personally with our defenders and their families. Whether building specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans, providing funds for essential resources to first responders, lifting spirits at military medical centers, or supporting their families in times of need, we’re serving America’s heroes and their loved ones every day.
