Join us September 29th for the 2nd edition of the Temecula Valley Century presented by Rabobank and Temecula Velo.  We have four beautiful rides to choose from; century, metric century, The Wine Country Tour and the Rabobank Ten Miler.  All rides with the exception of The Rabobank Ten Miler have a TIMED climb for King of the Mountain bragging rights. All rides begin at Town Square Park in Murrieta.

The net proceeds of the Temecula Valley Century benefit It’s Not About The Bike, a Temecula Non-Profit,  501(c) (3) charitable entity (tax id # 45-4340858) and The Gary Sinise Foundation. It’s Not About The Bike supports local charitable organizations as well as the developement of safe cycling in our community. The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our Nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.  They create and support unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.

About “It’s Not About the Bike”

It’s Not About The Bike is a 501 c3 (in process) (itsnotaboutthebike.org) organization dedicated to serving our veterans and community through bicycling fun ride events. Formed in 2008 as Temecula Velo Cycling Club the group provides training and guidance to new and experienced cyclists. The Temecula Valley Century www.temeculavalleycentury.com on September 29, 2012 is the flagship event.

We support various organizations throughout our community with the proceeds from our event- Michelle’s Place, HEART for Children, The Temecula Valley Woman’s Club, Temecula Bicycle Coalition, The Boys & Girls Club, Boy Scouts, Jacobs House, Cast a Shadow and others.  We consider it an honor to support The Gary Sinise Foundation raising funds for Building for America’s Bravest™, providing smart homes for our disabled veterans.  Although I have never served, these men and women are near and dear to my heart and the hearts of Temecula Valley residents. We appreciate your support for our community and veterans.

Those who take on the Century Route will be treated to a challenging 100 mile course highlighting some of the best cycling routes in the valley- De Luz, Wine Country and La Cresta. The 100 mile route features climbs up Rancho California Road at mile 14 and then the penultimate 6 mile TIMED ascent of Clinton Keith to the top of Santa Rosa Plateau. We have 6 well stocked SAG’s or Rest Stops along approximately every 15 miles.
